“Pickup” an Electric Truck!

This year the first electric pickup trucks are at last arriving to driveways and oversize garages across America. They come in all different shapes and sizes, for work, play or both. Automakers old and new are getting into this exciting new segment of the market. The success of these trucks will play a vital role in the transition to electrification.

In the next few years, we will see many more come to market and to a neighborhood near you. These trucks will have a wide range of specs, including high towing capacity, good payload, great range and performance. Some of these will also be a perfect fit for any fleet customers to save on high fuel and maintenance costs. The only issue will be trying to meet the huge demand for EV’s in the coming years that automakers have underestimated.

Here’s a preview of three of the most popular electric trucks that are already hitting the road now.

Rivian R1T

  • Price: $67,500-$100,000+
  • Electric Range: 313 Miles (est.)

The R1T has 4 electric motors powering each wheel with over 800 hp and almost 1000lb/ft of torque which can rocket this truck to 60 in 3 seconds. It also can tow up to 11,000lbs. It’s also capable off-road, with over three feet of wading depth. And has cool features like a gear tunnel, big frunk, and options like a small pullout kitchen and a tent that goes on the bed.

GMC Hummer EV

  • Price: $79,995 – $110,295+
  • Electric Range: 250-350Miles (est.)

This Hummer EV is huge weighing in over 9,000lbs but what else do you expect, it’s a Hummer. It does come with 1000 hp and all wheel drive which move this beast to 60 in just 3 seconds. Other features include, 4-wheel steering, crabwalk, roof sections that can come off (T-tops), 350KW DC fast charging and many more.

Ford F-150 Lightning

  • Price: $39,974 – $90,874+
  • Electric Range: 230-320 Miles (est.)

Ford goes all in on the F150 Lightning and delivers. It can blast to 60 in low to mid 4 second range, tow up to 12,000lbs and power your home when you lose power or power your whole jobsite with its many outlets. It also has a massive frunk that you can even have a tailgate party out of. And at the starting price, it makes it cheaper to buy over many other EV’s. Hopefully Ford can ramp up production as this truck is sold out for a while.
